# Adjusting waistband slope

## Best practice

![Tilting the waistband to create a slope raises the back of the trousers without altering the front. In some cases it can improve comfort by preventing the trousers from gaping at the back, or by removing front discomfort when combined with a reduced rise. || We indicate the slope in degrees. A **3-degree** slope raises the back rise by **1.5 cm**.
