# Creating your first trousers with AI – Inseam Length

| The trousers break on the shoe at the front. This length is ideal for formal trousers and also helps shorter builds gain visual length. | The trousers end just above the shoe or barely touch it (depending on the footwear). ### 🥾 You wear boots

Purists keep different trouser lengths for shoes of different heights. Otherwise, we recommend the “mid” length, which always works.

## Compare with trousers you already own

If you want to verify the inseam length on trousers you already have, take the time to measure it properly. Do not rely on the size on the label—trousers may have shrunk or been altered.
