Creating your first trousers with AI – Hem Opening

You are creating your first LE CHEMISEUR® trousers with our AI and would like to check the hem opening? This page is for you.

Best practice

Regular FitTailored Fit (recommended)Slim Fit
If you chose the Regular Fit, the hem opening has been widened by 1 cm. This gives a dressier twist, that is coming back into fashion.Modern and dynamic, this close-to-the-body width suits most situations. If you chose “Slim Fit”, the AI has tightened the hem by 1 cm. This creates a more casual style.

When to adjust

❌ Do not taper too much!

The fabric is slightly stretch, but it will not allow a skin-tight cut: keep at least 17 cm so your foot can pass comfortably. You may go down to 16 cm if your shoe size is under 43.

🥾 If you wear boots

To ensure the trousers can sit over your footwear, add 1 cm.

📏 You are short

We recommend tapering the hem to create visual length. The AI has already taken this into account, but you can still remove 1 cm if you wish. Remember to do the same at the knee so the leg remains balanced.

🪜 You are tall and slim

Widen the hem to give visual breadth. The algorithm has already considered this, but you can still add 1 cm or even 2 cm at the hem. Do the same at the knee for a balanced silhouette.

🔵 Plus sizes

The AI has also adjusted for this, but you may add another 1 cm at the hem to create a visually balanced cut if you prefer.

Compare with trousers you already own

Measure the hem opening across the full width, without stopping at the seam.
