Creating your first trousers with AI – the Slope

You are creating your first pair of LE CHEMISEUR® trousers with our AI and would like to check the suggested slope? This page is for you.

Best practice

Tilting the waistband to give it a slope raises the back of the trousers without altering the front. In some cases, it can improve comfort by preventing the trousers from gaping at the back, or avoid front discomfort when combined with a reduced rise. Standard tilt matches that of ready-to-wear trousers.

We indicate the tilt in degrees. A 3-degree tilt raises the back rise by 1.5 cm.

You can trust LE CHEMISEUR® AI

Our AI is trained on data from thousands of customers like you and already takes your body shape into account. In most cases you do not need to adjust the tilt of your made-to-measure trousers.

When to adjust

🍎 Discomfort at the front

Increase the slope if you feel discomfort at the front, around the stomach.

🍐 Waistband lifts at the back

Increase the slope when the waistband lifts away from the back although its width is correct, to add comfort and ensure the trousers cover the seat properly.

🥕 Folds form at the back

Decrease the slope if excess fabric creates folds below the waistband at the back and under the seat. If you already have zero tilt, reduce the rise height.

Adjustment limit: It is technically impossible to choose a raised rise and the maximum slope of 4.5 cm at the same time (this would distort the trousers too much).
