Adjusting trouser rise height

You already own LE CHEMISEUR® trousers and would like to adjust the rise height? This page is for you.

Best practice

The rise should allow the waistband to sit naturally on the hips. There is no excess looseness under the seat and no discomfort when sitting.

Note: increasing the rise will not create a true old-fashioned high-waisted trouser. We are only optimising a modern mid-rise cut for your body shape by adding 1.5 cm or removing 1 cm.

When to adjust

📉 Folds form beneath the seat

Reduce the rise height if you have folds under the seat. The trousers will be cut with less fabric, removing the folds. You will still wear your trousers at the same level on the hips. As the trousers are raised, remember to compensate by **adding 1 cm to the inseam length**.

😣 Waistband causes discomfort at the stomach

Reduce the rise height if you have a stomach and the waistband feels tight at the front. The waistband will sit lower. We recommend **increasing the tilt at the same time** to stay comfortable and covered at the back.

⬆️ You want the trousers to cover the stomach more

Increase the rise height if you wish to wear the trousers higher, covering the stomach. You may also need to increase the waistband width.

Adjustment limit: It is technically impossible to choose both a raised rise and the maximum tilt of 4.5 cm at the same time (this would distort the trousers too much).
