Creating your first shirt with our AI : armhole height measurement

You are creating your first LE CHEMISEUR® shirt with our AI and would like to check the armhole height? This page is for you.

Best practice for the armhole

The armhole height is the distance of the opening between the sleeves and the body of the shirt. It must allow good freedom of movement while limiting excess fabric. Changing the armhole height also affects the whole upper part of the sleeve around the biceps.

Trust the AI

Our AI is based on more than 10 years of experience and data from over 50 000 clients like you. It works well for the armhole.

🔃 You have high or sloping shoulders

Remove 1 cm (high shoulders) or add 1 cm (sloping shoulders).

🥵 You favor comfort and get warm easily

Add 1 cm.

😎 You favor style and like slim sleeves

Remove 1 cm. Don't reduce more, 1 cm is quite significant on this measurement.

Measuring the armhole height on an existing shirt

The armhole is difficult to measure precisely, but here's how to proceed: pull slightly on the fabric to lay the shirt flat. Measure the entire length following the seam. Do not stop at the bottom at the sleeve seam, but take the full width.
