Creating your first shirt with our AI : back length
The Ideal Shirt Length
Are you creating your first LE CHEMISEUR® shirt with our AI sizing system and wondering whether the shirt length is right for you? This page is for you.
The ideal shirt length depends on your body shape, your height and how you intend to wear your shirt.

A casual shirt, worn untucked, should cover your stomach even when you raise your arms. It should not be too long either to avoid the "skirt effect". On the side, it extends about 10 cm below the belt. At the front, it reaches the middle of the fly. | A formal shirt should be long enough to remain securely tucked into your trousers throughout the day, even when you sit, bend or raise your arms. As a general guideline, the side of the shirt should extend approximately 17 cm below your belt. At the back, it should reach the base of the buttocks, while at the front it should extend towards the bottom of the fly. |

Trust the AI!
LE CHEMISEUR®'s AI is based on years of expertise and data from more than 50,000 customers.
It provides an excellent fit recommendation for the vast majority of men, and your first order is covered by our 100-Day Fit Guarantee.
🪜 Tall or short men
As a general rule, taller men can benefit from a slightly longer shirt length, while shorter men may prefer a slightly shorter shirt to create more balanced proportions and visually lengthen the legs.
Our AI already takes these factors into account, but you can further adjust the length if you have a strong personal preference.
🐘 Prominent stomach
If you usually wear your shirt tucked in and have a prominent stomach, adding approximately 2 cm to the shirt length can help keep it securely in place throughout the day.
For collar sizes 48 cm and above, you automatically benefit from our Big-&-Tall pattern, which includes a slightly longer front section for a given back length.
