Creating your first shirt with our AI : sleeve length

The Ideal Sleeve Length

Are you creating your first LE CHEMISEUR® shirt with our AI sizing system and would like to check the sleeve length? This page is for you.

How the sleeve should fit

When standing naturally with your arms relaxed and the cuff unbuttoned, the sleeve should end approximately 3 cm above the base of your thumb. This length ensures a balanced appearance and allows the cuff to sit correctly at the wrist without appearing too short or too long.

Trust the AI

Because height is such a good predictor, we generally recommend trusting the AI for this measurement. Of course, you can add or subtract 1 cm according to personal preference. Some professions call for special adjustments – doctors, for example, sometimes choose slightly shorter sleeves to avoid contamination.

👕 Special case: short-sleeve shirts

If you would like a short-sleeve shirt, go to Personalise → Cuffs and select "Short Sleeves".

The AI will automatically calculate a sleeve length that suits your build.

If you prefer, you can also enter an exact sleeve length, for example 24 cm.

Compare with a shirt you already own

Lay the sleeve flat on a table and smooth out any wrinkles. Measure from the end of the cuff to the shoulder seam where the sleeve is attached to the shirt. For French cuffs, fold the cuff as it would be worn before taking the measurement. As a reference, most ready-to-wear shirts have sleeve lengths of approximately 64 cm. A difference of ±1 cm between your measurement and your Clé de Coupe is completely normal and falls within our manufacturing tolerances.
