Adjusting the right cuff circumference

How Should the Right Cuff Fit?

![The cuff should be fitted enough at the wrist to prevent the sleeve from sliding over your hand, while remaining comfortable and easy to fasten. As a rule of thumb, you should be able to pinch approximately 1.5 cm of fabric at the side of the cuff.(https://lechemiseur.fr/data/lechemiseur/aide/Schema-Poignet-droit.jpg)

We recommend adding 1 cm to the cuff circumference on the side where you wear a watch. This subtle adjustment is barely noticeable and allows you to wear the shirt comfortably both with and without a watch.

LE CHEMISEUR® tips

If you reduce the cuff circumference, rolling up the sleeves may become more difficult.

⌚ Accounting for a watch

If you usually wear a watch, we recommend adding 1 cm to the cuff circumference on that side.

For a larger or bulkier watch, consider adding 2 cm instead.

↔ Big & Tall

If you have a larger build, do not hesitate to leave 1 cm of additional room at the cuffs. This often creates a more balanced look and improves overall comfort.

How to measure the cuff on a shirt

Unbutton the cuff and lay it flat. Measure from the centre of the button to the centre of the buttonhole. For French cuffs, measure from the centre of one buttonhole to the centre of the opposite buttonhole. This measurement corresponds to the cuff circumference used in your Clé de Coupe. A difference of ±1 cm between your measurement and your Clé de Coupe is completely normal and falls within our manufacturing tolerances.
