Adjusting the sleeve length of a shirt
You already own a LE CHEMISEUR® shirt and would like to adjust the sleeve length? This page is for you.
Best practice for sleeve length
LE CHEMISEUR® tips
🤏 Allow for shrinkage
Wash the shirt 2–3 times before deciding on alterations. The AI already compensates for the typical 1–2 cm shrinkage of each fabric.
👔 Wearing your shirt with a jacket
The shirt cuff should extend about 1 cm beyond the jacket sleeve.
📏 Balancing for height
Very tall wearers can add + 1 cm so the arms look less long; shorter wearers often subtract – 1 cm for better proportions.
👕 Special case : short-sleeve shirts
Keep your usual long-sleeve length and, under Personalise › Cuffs, select “Short Sleeves”; we will calculate an optimum fit automatically for your build. You can also enter an exact short-sleeve length here (e.g. 24 cm).
How to measure sleeve length on a shirt
Tolerance
A difference of ± 1 cm between your measurement and your Fit Key is perfectly normal; it comes from the small tolerances inherent in cutting and sewing all the pattern pieces.
